Definitions
“We/Us/Our/Citadel” means Citadel Insurance p.l.c.
“You/Your” means the Website User.

These Terms and Conditions relate to Your use of the services provided by Citadel under the domain names http://www.citadelplc.com/ and http://www.citadeldirect.com/ (‘the Sites’) and to Your request to purchase a product or service.
Citadel reserves the right to change/amend these Terms and Conditions at any time and Your continued access to or use of the Sites constitutes Your acceptance of any such change/amendment.
The Sites contain expressions of opinion, information, and material about Our product range and services. Citadel has done its utmost to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of all information on the Sites. Nothing on the Sites constitutes professional advice and should not be relied upon in this regard, nor does the transmission, downloading or sending of any information or other material create any contractual relationship between You and Us.
Terms and Conditions of Our Products and Services
The information and descriptions on the Sites do not necessarily represent complete descriptions of all terms and conditions in relation to Our products and services. All the products and services offered/displayed on the Sites are subject to underwriting procedures and general and specific terms and conditions.
The contents of the Sites do not constitute an offer by Citadel to sell products and services. Your request to purchase a product or service represents an offer by You that Citadel may accept or reject and will be subject to the terms and conditions of that product or service. Your decision to subscribe to any service or purchase any product mentioned on the Sites should be made only on the basis of the information contained in the product prospectus or policy document, respectively. These are available from the Head Office, Front Office or any branch of Citadel. Specific details will be included in the schedule of cover, policy documentation and / or conditions of purchase issued to You.
You must ensure and hereby warrant that the details You give Citadel while using the Site are correct and that You have sufficient funds to cover the cost of any product or service which You intend to purchase.
Site Access and Password Usage
All information on the Sites is directed solely at those who can access the Sites from Malta and is intended for use by Maltese residents only. Persons accessing these pages from jurisdictions other than Malta should be aware that their local legislation might restrict their eligibility to some or all of the products and services promoted on the Sites. They are therefore required to inform themselves about and observe any relevant restrictions.
To obtain access to certain online services You are given the opportunity to register with Citadeldirect on http://www.citadeldirect.com/. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of Your details and Your password and for restricting access to Your computer to prevent unauthorised access to Your account. You accept responsibility for activities that occur under Your account. You agree to inform Citadel immediately if You have reason to believe that Your account is being used in an unauthorised manner.
Your Instructions to Citadel
All payments, instructions, orders, applications, agreements, other declarations of intent and messages submitted by You through the Sites are deemed binding on You.
You authorise Us to act on any instruction that Citadel receives through the Sites and which has been, or reasonably appears to have been sent by You.
You declare and confirm that any information given by You to Citadel is true and correct and You are responsible for the authenticity of the information given. Citadel is not obliged to confirm the correctness or otherwise of the information You supply.
Citadel is not to be held liable if the execution of the instruction due to information submitted incorrectly by You is delayed, carried out incorrectly or not carried out.
Citadel may refuse to carry out an instruction or immediately terminate the execution of an instruction made through the Sites if Citadel has reason to believe that the instruction is invalid or has not come from You.
Credit Card Transactions
Please note that Citadel does not retain the credit card details that You provide after payment has been made.
Liability
Except to the extent that loss or damage is caused directly by Citadel’s gross negligence or wilful misconduct and subject to the following paragraph, Citadel and/or its employees shall not be liable for any loss or damage that You may suffer as a result of Your use of or reliance on the contents of the Sites. In particular and without limiting the generality of the foregoing, Citadel will not be liable for the delay in performing or failure to perform its obligations hereunder if the delay or failure results from events or circumstances beyond its control.
Citadel shall not be liable for any losses resulting from third party services outside its reasonable control whether such services are used by You to access the Sites or used by Citadel in order to comply with Your instructions.
Citadel shall not be liable to You for any losses resulting from Your accessing third party websites, whether or not You access such websites through the Sites.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the use of the Sites, with or without notice. You agree that Citadel shall not be liable to You or to any third party for any such modification, suspension or discontinuance of the use of the Sites.
Indemnity
You shall hold Citadel harmless from any loss or damage suffered by any person as a result of Your breach of any of these Terms and Conditions.
Confidentiality and Data Protection
You agree with Our Privacy Policy.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by Maltese Law. By accessing the Sites, You have accepted Maltese law as the law governing the use of the Sites.
The Courts of Malta shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all claims or disputes arising out of, or in relation to, or in connection with the Sites and these Terms and Conditions.
