We are currently seeking to engage a Finance Manager to join our Finance department.
Working closely with the Head of Finance, the main role requires various responsibilities connected with the integrity of the preparation of the monthly management accounts and yearly financial statements, their review and analysis, as well as other tasks related to the Company’s finance department.
Other duties and responsibilities:
- Managing specific accounting discipline;
- Playing an active role in the annual financial statement audits;
- Enhancing and maintaining insurance related accounting, policies and procedures and internal control documentation;
- Preparing and delivering formal presentations to management and other ad hoc committees as and when required;
- Solvency and statutory reporting;
- Coordinating timely accounting and financial reports;
- Investment accounting recording and related statements;
- Interacting with outsourced service providers for business produced through intermediaries;
- Effectively establishing and communicating departmental objectives to staff and ensure they are delivered on time and adhere to accounting controls;
- Budgetary and business plan projects and ongoing monitoring of financial strategy targets.
Skill-sets and requirements
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and technical accounting skills;
- Ability to assess and communicate financial implications of business plans and actions;
- Knowledge of reinsurance concepts and related accounting.
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related degrees and/or ACCA;
- 5+ years of related experience with a combination of finance and investment experience;
- Experience in dealing with deadlines with statutory authorities and expertise on statutory matters and compliance requirements.
Salary would be contingent on the experience the applicant/s holds in managing a finance team and responsibilities in working with strict deadlines for financial, insurance and investment accounting.
