Citadel Insurance staff participate in car free day
In support of Car Free Day, Citadel Insurance has sponsored 50% of the Valletta Electric Cabs fee on Friday 20th September. Through this initiative, Citadel is promoting the increase of use of this greener means of transport in and around our capital city.
Citadel Insurance employees also played a direct role in the promotion of initiatives aimed at improving air quality. They used alternative means to reach their offices on Tuesday 17th September as part of a Car Free Day initiative.
Citadel staff travelled to their places of work together with their colleagues by means of car sharing, others used mini buses while some were more adventurous and opted for the water taxi. Those living close to the Company’s branch network around Malta travelled on foot. The benefit gained out of this initiative was twofold as staff donated the money saved on fuel to charity.
“At first glance, it seemed to be a challenge to find alternative means of transport, but we had quite a number of interesting suggestions. I’m very proud that Citadel’s staff proposed to promote car free day, which idea was fully supported by management. Everyone was keen to do their part to reduce their carbon footprint.” said Ms Angela Tabone, managing director of Citadel Insurance plc.
Citadel rewards clients who safeguard our environment through savings available on its branded eco home and motor polices. Customers benefit from special prices if they own cars with low Co2 emissions, or install solar water heaters or PVs.
