We are looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to join our team. The position demands a dynamic compliance professional with expertise on regulatory permissions and governance.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement and manage an effective compliance programmes;
- Be knowledgeable on existing regulatory requirements and keep up-to-date with any new EU directives in order to provide clear concise advice to the business;
- Independently lead any required compliance related activity and liaise with and all relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance is maintained at all times;
- Coordinate compliance releases with the various departments to ensure that the staff is knowledgeable of, and complies with applicable laws, regulations and industry standards;
- Advise management on the company’s compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports;
- Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks;
- Undertake such other duties, GPDR; MLRO
Skill-sets and Requirements
- Strong Compliance experience within the insurance industry with knowledge of regulatory requirements;
- In-depth knowledge of the insurance market, techniques and EU legal and regulatory environment;
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently;
- Inquisitive/challenging approach;
- Candidates who are already approved by MFSA, or fit to be approved, would be given preference.
Education & Experience
- A tertiary level of education is required, ideally within Law, Insurance, or Economics;
- Financial services qualification from a tertiary education institution, or university degree.
