Assistant Cost Controller

We are currently seeking to engage an Assistant Cost Controller to join our Motor Claims department. The position demands a dynamic professional who will be responsible with dealing with third party suppliers, whilst also processing claims efficiently to satisfy our customers’ expectations.

Main duties & responsibilities:

  • Acquiring quotations for vehicle spare parts as per motor claims policy guidelines;
  • Keeping constant track of parts orders;
  • Issuing of daily reports;
  • Assisting supervisor with implementing strategies designed for the achievement of excellent customer service with our clients, customers, intermediaries, brokers and service providers;
  • Assisting with various tasks within the Motor Claims Department, attending meetings when necessary and aligning with team members to contribute towards achieving both departmental and Company goals.

Skill-sets and requirements:

  • Be a flexible and supportive team-player, focused, with an outgoing personality and capable of working under minimum supervision;
  • Possess good IT skills and be conversant with Microsoft accounting applications;
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English and Maltese;
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently;
  • Pro-active and hands-on approach.

Education and experience:

  • Be in possession of an Advanced level in Accounting or a diploma level of education, ideally within Insurance or Accounting;
  • Have a minimum one year experience in cost control, finance or Insurance Motor business;
  • Knowledge of the insurance market, techniques and EU legal and regulatory environment;

Candidates showing a good understanding of the automotive industry will be given preference.
