Citadel Insurance Sponsors CT Park Electric CT CAB
As part of its ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ initiatives
towards raising environmental consciousness, Citadel Insurance p.l.c is sponsoring
a CT Park Electric CT CAB. All painted in green, the new Citadel CT CAB
features Citadel’s ‘Eco Insurance’ brand on ‘Eco Motor’
and ‘Eco Home’.
The sponsorship of the Citadel Eco CT CAB complements the Company’s
earlier initiative in the year, as the first local insurer to exclusively introduce
Eco Insurance on its motor and home policies. ‘Citadel Eco Motor’ insurance
provides direct discounts on motor insurance to clients who own ‘green’
cars which have lower CO2 emissions, hybrid cars and electric cars. Likewise,
clients who have installed solar water heaters or generate their own electricity
by using photovoltaic systems can take advantage and benefit from direct discounts
on their home insurance policy. ‘Citadel Eco Home’ can be purchased
separately on buildings insurance, contents insurance or on both when taken up together.
Citadel’s CEO, Angela Tabone commented on the Company’s efforts
to encourage and reward environmentally conscious customers and its drive to promote
also with the general public the need to take action on their personal impact on
climate change. She said that the electric ‘Citadel Eco CT CAB’ provides
a direct manifestation of these efforts and Citadel was very pleased to be sponsoring
the CT CAB.
Reporting a total of 42,680 trips and a total of 68,392 passengers, up to the month
of November 2008, Mark A. Mallia, Transportation Manager of CT Park Limited, positively
noted the high demand for the electric CT CAB in Valletta from all walks of life
including office workers, the business community, housewives on shopping errands,
tourists, daily Valletta commuters and so forth. He observed that the general public
has once again shown that it is in real need of an effective public transport system
like the one that CT Park offers and the statistics for 2008 proves its consistency
as well as its performances.
